Solar installers work at the intersection of roofing, electrical, and high-tech equipment integration. 1. General Liability & Roof Integrity

The most common claim for solar installers is water intrusion. Mounting racks requires "penetrating" the roof's sealed envelope. Coverage is structured to address interior property damage if these penetrations are not flashed correctly, leading to leaks that damage the building’s structure or the client's belongings.

2. Electrical & Fire Liability

Solar arrays generate DC power that is converted to AC via inverters. Faulty wiring, improper grounding, or mismatched components can cause "arc faults," leading to roof fires. This coverage addresses catastrophic property damage or bodily injury resulting from electrical fires sparked by the installation.

3. Professional Liability & Energy Estimates

Solar installers often provide "Production Estimates" to justify the ROI for a client. If the system fails to produce the promised kilowatt-hours due to poor design, incorrect tilt/azimuth, or shading miscalculations, the client may sue for financial loss. 4. Solar Panel Installation Floater

Solar panels are fragile and expensive. An Installation Floater protects the equipment while it is in transit to the site or staged on the ground/roof before it is permanently attached.
